Summer Activities

TGO Nature Center Summer Activities

We had many fun activities over this past winter and even though our busy winter season is over, the TGO Nature Center board of directors and our volunteers will still be working.

Mike Fontana, Director of Property,  and Ed Kamptner, our TGO Golf Cart Parade Grand Marshall,  recently acid etched and sealed the pavers in front of the nature center.   They also painted the top and bottom railings on the porch, the bicycle rack and the sign in front of the building.   It looks great!  We are hoping to put a bulletin board on the sign to list the TGO Nature Center activities.  Mike and Ed’s volunteer spirit and hard work are very much appreciated and their efforts saved the nature center money on the labor cost we would have spent hiring someone to do the work.  Good job!

Mike went through the furniture on the porch and removed some worn out non-matching chairs. The porch looks larger, is easier to move around in and looks more inviting for our members and guests. Thanks Mike!

Mike and Ed weren’t the only volunteers sprucing up the TGO Nature Center property.  Jack Juba painted the storage shed behind the nature center building.  Thank you Jack!

There will be other “maintenance” items addressed this summer to ensure the nature center building and our equipment stay in top notch condition.  We will also be purchasing some new doormats to freshen up the front and to try to keep the sand out of the nature center. We will also be coming up with some fun activities for next winter season.   Make sure to check back to see what we are up to!
