Red Rat Snake aka Corn Snake

Welcome to the TGO Nature Center’s Red Rat Snake, also know as a Corn Snake, photo album. These snakes are non-venomous so if you encounter one, please do not kill it.  Click on any photo to get a closer look to see more detail on the skin pattern to help you identify this snake.

Ken Birtwistle sent in the two photos below of a Red Rat Snake also known as a Corn Snake. These snakes are non-venomous.  Here is what Ken said about where this snake was found.

“When my wife Carol went to pull out the grill stand from the shed a week or so ago, she encountered this guy.  He was 3-4 feet long.”
