Gary Wittstock took the photo below.  Gary described his encounter:  “The Rattler was very hard to photograph as he was in his element off Windsong. About 7 ft off the side of the road in the grass but he’s so small most of his body is hidden by the short grass. It was 7 AM and around 70F so he was still sluggish from the cooler night. Lucky as both my dog and I stepped right over this one before we saw it’s pattern. Whew. Ran home to get my camera. Returned. Dead battery. Ran home again. This time got the shot.”  We’re glad you got this shot, Gary, and thanks for sharing!
