Osprey Photo Album

The TGO Nature Center is pleased to present a photo album of osprey photographs to help you identify this beautiful bird.  Click on any photo to enlarge for a closer look.

Pat Mahon took the photo below of a pair of Ospreys on the nest Florida Power & Light (FPL) moved last summer.  The actual nest had been used by Ospreys for years but was occupied by Great Horned Owls last year.  You can see the original nest and the owls by clicking on this 2015 Great Horned Owl Nests Photo Album link and look at the nest at the maintenance yard or scroll down and see the photo by Darlene Durham of the original nest with an Osprey on it.  Hopefully this pair of Ospreys will give us new TGO residents – baby Ospreys.

Gary Wittstock always gets amazing photographs.  The photos below are of an osprey with a fish.  He captured these shots at 503 Oak Cove in January of 2015.

The photo below was taken by Darlene Durham of the Osprey nest located by the maintenance yard. In 2015, a Great Horned Owl took possession of this nest and raised two owlets. You can see the development of these owlets by clicking here.
