On the evening of March 8, 2016, Laurie and Bob Mason found an injured red-phase Screech Owl. TGO Nature Center volunteer, Sandy Juba, picked up the bird from the Masons and took it to the Florida Wildlife Hospital. Unfortunately, a few days later, we learned  the owl had to be euthanized. It had a badly broken wing and a punctured eye. If Laurie, Bob and Sandy had not attempted to rescue this owl, it could have suffered a slow and painful death or been taken by a predator. Thank you Laurie, Bob and Sandy!
