TGO Nature Center Library

The TGO Nature Center library is full of information contained in books, DVDs, brochures and interesting information packages on our local wildlife and plants. We also have a “Kidz Korner” with a bulletin board, books and activities for our younger guests.

The committee responsible for our library is the Library and Information Services Committee chaired by Darlene Durham. In addition to the library, this committee is also responsible for the meeting room bulletin board and nature shows shown on the meeting room television. We strive to provide our visitors with informational, educational and entertaining resources.

Christy “Scout” Cechman, our volunteer librarian, oversees our large collection of books, periodicals, DVDs and videos.  Checkout of library materials is done on the honor system and materials can be checked out for up to three weeks.

Scroll down and take a tour of our library through photographs.

We are very fortunate to have talented TGO Nature Center volunteers who built our library bookcase, brochure rack and our fun “Touch and Feel” display.

Our beautiful library bookcase pictured below was built by craftsman Roy Hathaway.

Chuck Somers built this wonderful brochure rack.  The rack holds informational sheets and booklets about our diverse local nature.

Jack Juba is the talented creator of the “Touch and Feel” Box.  Kids and adults alike get a kick out of this display.  You put a hand in one of the holes and guess what is inside.  Then you raise up the matching numbered wood panel above to reveal the answer.  How many can you guess correctly?  You will have to visit the TGO Nature Center library to test your skill!
